passed on Various Artists - Passed On
Songs For Hank.

Attracting all sorts of wonderful musicians and singers into his home, Hank Walter, enthusiastically shared many late night musical sessions with his family and friends.
The walls shook into the early hours, fuelled by generous alcoholic libation, and every body sang, sometimes until the sun rose over Wellington Harbour. This collection is a sample of the tradition and love of music he has passed on to his family. Hank's popular radio programmes, 'All Day Singing', 'Hootnanny Tonight', and 'This Land is your Land' aired on National Radio from 1956 to 1963.

Bridget Ellis Bridget Ellis.
Emptiness fullness

This recording is a contemplative and spacious foray int contemporary jazz. Ellis' insightful song compositions are expanded upon by Coleman's soulful trumpet lines. His improvised melody picks up where Elliss haunting singing leaves off, creating a dynamic dialogue throughout the four pieces. Travis Hedwig on double bass and Mark Joyce on drums form a sensitive rythmic anchor from which the melody floats.
